P.S. Tim, that vintage picture at the top of the blog looks hauntingly familiar. I can't figure out if I've seen it before or if I'm just reacting to the genre image. Do you know its provenance?

Ah, you are the first to ask. That is a photo of my grandmother, Gertrude Damrow Sunderland, probably taken about 1904 or 1905. I named a character in my novel after her. Read about her at http://whatifyoucouldnotfail.typepad.com/blog/2012/06/the-lady-i-called-grandma.html
